Dr. Pauline Yap, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Yap graduated from The Kamehameha Schools in 1978, holds a BS in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor and a DVM from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine class of 1996. She has been a practicing veterinarian for over 20 years and an avid animal lover all of her life.
Dr. Yap is married, a mother to three adult children, grandmother to seven grandchildren and is a pet parent to two dogs, Chunkie and Pebbles, and two cats, Soki and Nugget.
Aside from animal health and other animal related issues, Dr. Yap enjoys cycling for pleasure, reading Science Fiction and Fantasy, studying Hawaiian Language and sculpting in clay, both traditional clay and polymer clay.
Dodie Kekuewa
Practice Manager
Dodie is a 1976 graduate of Pearl City High School and has worked in many different fields from accounting, assistant store manager, part time and substitute elementary school teacher and currently the practice manager.
She is the second youngest of eight siblings. Dodie is married and a mother to three adult children and a grandmother to a very precious little boy and baby girl. She’s had many loving pets that have since passed but is currently a pet parent to her cat named Remy and two granddogs, Penguin and Kapaea.
Dodie loves mostly spending time with her grandchildren, enjoying the sun and water and traveling when she can.
Brittany Ibert
Veterinary Assistant
Brittany is from Kūkaniloko O’ahu. She attended numerous schools across the island. Growing up, Brittany gained hands-on experience with feathery, furry, hairy, scaly, slimy invertebrates, birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and fish.
As a part of the Ke Ola Pets’ ʻOhana since 2017, Brittany strives to ensure that everything with a heartbeat feels like ʻohana and that no one gets left behind.
Brittany stays busy outside of work multitasking 4 children. Her own ʻohana commonly practices gathering rights from mountain to ocean. She is a firm believer in eating what you grow and sustaining and building resilience.
Louie Lynn Wirth
Veterinary Assistant
Originally from California, Louie Lynn moved to Oahu in 2009. She entered the veterinary field shortly after her move to Hawaii. She joined the clinic staff in 2015 but worked with Dr. Yap at a previous clinic. Louie Lynn has been married to her husband for 15 years. Together they have four children and two dogs. As a family they enjoy spending time at the beach and playing video games.
Gabby Huffer
Veterinary Assistant
Gabby was born in Poland in the countryside where she grew up being around animals at a young age and has a big heart for them. She moved to Chicago and met her husband in high school. They moved to Germany due to him being in the military. There she got a german shepherd dog and was determined to train her new puppy. Because of her determination, the trainer and breeder hired her to further train other puppies and care for a variety of canines. She moved to Hawai’i in October of 2021 and still has the same love for animals. Everyday she is learning and wants to further her career in animal care.
Kaitlyn Long
Veterinary Assistant
Kaitlyn graduated from Pearl City High School in 2012. She then went to Kansas State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science Pre-Veterinarian Medicine and minored in Dance. She will be attending Ross University of Veterinary Medicine.
